- Full Color Overhauls: Both games are fully colorized with beautifully designed modern palettes. They look and feel exactly like official "Deluxe" (DX) versions Nintendo would have released during the GBC era.
- Playable Luigi: Both games introduce Luigi as a fully playable alternative character. He isn't just a visual reskin; he comes with his own distinct physics, including higher, floatier jumps and looser traction.
- Performance Enhancements: The code utilizes the extra processing power of the GBC/GBA hardware. This completely eliminates the screen lagging, frame rate drops, and slowdown issues found in the original 8-bit releases.
- Modern Upgrades & QOL: The games feature modernized sprite work (with an option to toggle back to classic sprites), fixed collision boxes, proper save-state tracking for high scores, and a built-in level select options menu.
- Hardware Compatibility: While these are technically Game Boy Color hacks, these physical reproduction cartridges are formatted into GBA-compatible shells to play smoothly across all Game Boy Advance, GBA SP, and Nintendo DS Lite consoles. They will not boot up on an original brick Game Boy.
The Two Games Included:
- Super Mario Land DX: Mario's bizarre travel adventure through the world of Sarasaland to rescue Princess Daisy from Tatanga the alien. Features unique vehicle shooter stages like the Sky Pop airplane and Marine Pop submarine.
- Super Mario Land 2 DX: A massive quest where Mario must reclaim his personal castle from his greedy rival, Wario (marking Wario's first-ever appearance in video game history). It features six uniquely themed zones, including a Space Zone and a giant mechanical Mario Zone.
