The QFS-A81HV is a direct drop-in 340LPH high volume fuel pump assembly for 1999-2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 pickups. Perfect for forced induction applications requiring significantly more volume beyond what the stock fuel pump can provide. Quantum's 340LPH direct drop-in fuel pump assemblies eliminate the problematic venturi canister design found in all 1995-2005 GM trucks, vans, and SUV's. Previously, installing a high volume 255LPH or 340LPH fuel pump into an OEM GM canister meant cutting windows into the sides of the bucket, thereby completely disabling the venturi function and the ability of the canister to stay full during cornering or acceleration, which inevitably leads to overheating of the fuel pump. The bandaid solution was to keep the tank at 1/4-1/2 full or above at all times. Quantum's 340LPH assembly resolves the inadequacies of the OEM canister design, allowing the tank to be run down to empty just like stock.
