It is a maximum security locking device that is designed for use with inswing doors. This locking hardware installs into jamb jack stud with 31/2 inch long screws, to ensure the strongest hold. When the ring is engaged into the lock plate, it is designed to block the inswinging door from opening, and it meets Texas apartment codes. For best results, follow the installation instructions included with each package.From the ManufacturerThis lock plate is constructed of 11gauge steel and comes in a white powder coated finish. It is a maximumsecurity locking device, which uses a flat, ringshaped bolt to block the doors swing, when attempts from the outside are made to force the door open. This chain door guardtype of locking hardware is strong enough to meet the Texas building code requirements, and it is designed for use with hinged, swingin doors. The 3inch x 3inch jamb plate installs over the door jamb, and its four 31/2 inch long fasteners reach deep into the jack stud to provide a kickin proof door stop. Installation of this securitylocking device is easy, and in certain applications, some chiseling may be necessary to seat the jamb plate flush with the surface of the doorjamb.
