Except that escaping a fairytale isn’t as easy as she thought, and to preserve her home and her family, she needs to somehow blunder her way to a Happy Ever After. Meaning a prince has to rescue her and propose marriage.

So, accompanied by her tipsy fairy godmother and a distractingly handsome (annoyingly so) stablehand, she sets her sights on a formidable task – finding a dragon, in the hopes this will convince a prince to perform the required rescue and marriage proposal.

Once-Upon-Thyme is a wonderfully twisted take on the classic fairytale formula, full of misfit characters, unexpected twists, and all about the importance of embracing life's beautiful imperfections.

This Duplex Paperback Edition is 5"x8", with a total of 304 pages, printed on 80gsm cream paper. It includes the following:

• A second full colour, gorgeous cover printed on the inside front and back covers.

• Custom 2 page illustrated chapter headers to represent the setting of each chapter

• 22 black and white illustrations interspersed among the story

This book was originally written for adults who wanted no spice and nothing graphic. But while it's not aimed at teens and young adults (the main character is 25) I would say it is suitable for older teens. Below is a detailed content list so you can make an informed decision:

Spice: there is 0 spice - just one kiss at the end

Cursing: There is mild cursing - several 'damn', one 'bastard', 3 'shit', and one 'shitting shit and fuckwits on a stick', the princess's favourite insult from when she was a kid! 

Violence: There is action but no graphic violence

Alcohol: There is depiction of alcohol. The fairy godmother is drunk and the princess initially also drinks with her because of how depressing she finds life as a fairytale princess, although she doesn't feel good about it. And that stops later in the book.
