It was revealed after her death how she, to the surprise of most, suffered a prolonged "dark night of the soul" or a feeling of being abandoned by God. Yet, she persevered. Let us always ask St. Teresa to intercede for us, that we may obtain the grace of perseverance and always remember to see the face of Christ in everyone we meet, especially as we celebrate her feast day on September 5th.
