Gameboy non oem reproduction Mega Man 4 video game cartridge. Game cartridge comes with a plastic protective case.
Mega Man IV (known in Japan as Rockman World 4) is a 1993 action-platformer developed by Minakuchi Engineering and published by Capcom for the Game Boy. While it reuses bosses from the NES, it features entirely original level designs, new story elements, and gameplay innovations that would later become series staples.
Plot & Setting
The game centers on Dr. Wily's latest plan for world domination during the first annual Robot Master Exposition.
- The Incident: Dr. Wily uses a radio signal to mind-control the city's robots, causing them to go on a rampage.
- Mega Man's Mission: Because of his "strong sense of justice," Mega Man (Rock) and Rush are unaffected by the signal. They must defeat eight Robot Masters and stop Wily's massive Wily Tank and space station.
- The Rival: The game introduces Ballade, the third "Mega Man Killer" robot, who eventually sacrifices himself to save Mega Man after being defeated twice.
Gameplay Features
- Robot Master Hybrid: Like previous GB entries, it mixes eight bosses from two sequential NES games: Mega Man 4 (Toad Man, Bright Man, Pharaoh Man, Ring Man) and Mega Man 5 (Crystal Man, Napalm Man, Stone Man, Charge Man).
- Item Shop: This game introduced the P-Chip (Power Chip) currency system. Players collect chips to buy upgrades like E-Tanks and the Energy Balancer at Dr. Light's lab.
- Weapon Utility: Certain weapons have non-combat uses; for instance, the Rain Flush can extinguish fires, and the Ring Boomerang can retrieve out-of-reach items.
- Charged Shot Recoil: A unique mechanic in this entry is that Mega Man's fully charged Mega Buster shot has a slight recoil/kickback.
- Beat's Debut: Players can unlock the robot bird Beat as an assistant by collecting four "BEAT" plates hidden in the first four stages.
