FAQs
Is this pattern good for beginners?
Yes! Both versions use simple stitches (knit/purl for knitting, single crochet/half double crochet for crochet) with easy shaping.
What kind of yarn works best?
Choose worsted weight or light bulky yarn. Sustainable fibers like Darn Good Yarn’s reclaimed silk or recycled blends give rich color and texture.
Can I adjust the size?
Absolutely. Increase or decrease starting chains (crochet) or cast-on stitches (knit) in multiples of two for smaller or larger fits.
Can I sell the hats I make?
No. This free pattern is for personal use only and cannot be used for commercial resale.
Do I need to block the finished hat?
Light blocking or steaming helps even out stitches and gives your hat a smooth, professional look—especially with natural fibers.
