We do not claim tallow is rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K. That is the most repeated claim in tallow skincare and the testing does not support it. Tallow earns its place because its fatty acids match human sebum, so your barrier gets sealed by something your skin recognizes. The repair work belongs to the oils, which is why we run deliberately less tallow than the 80 to 90% that is standard in this category and leave real room for them. Every ingredient on the label, and the job it does

• Regeneratively raised beef tallow, infused with organic rose petals, vanilla bean, and marshmallow root. The barrier base, with a fatty acid profile close to human sebum. Suet renders close to odorless, which is why this jar does not smell like beef. The botanicals steep whole in the fat for days and leave a faint natural scent. Not a distilled fraction, and not an essential oil.
• Organic beeswax. Structure. It holds the whip together in warm weather without emulsifiers.
• Organic cold-pressed castor oil. Draws moisture into the skin.
• Organic olive squalane. A skin-identical lipid that supports barrier recovery without greasiness.
• Organic cold-pressed jojoba oil. Structurally a liquid wax close to skin's own sebum, so it absorbs without sitting on top.
• Organic meadowfoam seed oil. Slows water loss through the skin and keeps the whip stable.

Frequently asked questions

Is it greasy?

It can be for the first few days, until you find the right amount. A pea-sized portion covers a whole face, which is far less than a lotion. Warm it until it turns to oil, then press it into skin that is still slightly damp. Most people who describe tallow as greasy are using several times more than they need.

Will tallow clog my pores?

Tallow's fatty acid profile is close to the skin's own sebum, and the concern about clogged pores traces back to an outdated testing method. We cover the evidence in detail in does tallow clog pores.

Does it have a strong beef smell?

No. We render from suet, the hard fat that carries almost none of the beefy note, and infuse it with organic rose, vanilla, and marshmallow root. The scent is warm and subtle, and it fades within a minute of application.

Can I use it during pregnancy or on my baby?

The formula is made without the ingredient categories most often flagged during pregnancy, including essential oils and synthetic fragrance. As always, check with your provider about your own situation.

How long does one jar last?

Most people using it on the face alone get three to four months from one 4 oz jar. Using it head to toe will use it faster.
