Der Arzneimittel-Atlas liefert für 31 Indikationsgruppen transparente und strukturierte Informationen über die Entwicklung der Verordnungen zu Lasten der gesetzlichen Krankenversicherung. Alle Analysen basieren auf dem Konzept der Tagesdosen und auf Erstattungspreisen. Für das Jahr 2011 werden im Vergleich zu 2010 die Änderungen von Verbrauch und Preis sowie strukturelle Verschiebungen betrachtet und regionale Unterschiede dargestellt. Schließlich wird der Arzneimittelverbrauch in Beziehung zur Prävalenz verschiedener Erkrankungen gesetzt. Den Schwerpunkt des Arzneimittel-Atlas 2012 bilden die frühe Nutzenbewertung nach dem Gesetz zur Neuordnung des Arzneimittelmarktes (AMNOG) und die damit zusammenhängenden Veränderungen.
