Amaco Velvet UnderGlazes are semitranslucent. Note: Choose from the LUG underglazes for more opaque underglazes. Both provide a deep, rich color for your pottery projects. Velvet Underglazes can be used for an all over coverage. Their fired color is the color they appear in the jar. They are mixable so you adjust the color and you can even your blend to create your own colors. These underglazes have a wide firing range. They can be used at lowfire earthenware temperatures band most colors stay true to color when fired up to Cone 6, which allows the utmost in artistry and versatility. Many people use these at cone 10+ as well although colors vary. Amaco Velvet Underglazes are perfect for professionals and novices. They are AP NonToxic classroomsafe. Children love working with Amaco Velvet UnderGlazes as they are never disappointed with the results. This product works well with bisque, greenware, and even wet clay. Underglazes do not move like glazes so choose underglaze to achieve painterly effects and fine detail painting. They can be used without clear glaze to remain velvet matte on decorative pieces or with a zincfree clear glaze for an intensified glossy look on decorative or foodsafe wares.
